Doxycycline Is Right Treatment Option for Bacterial Vaginosis

Doxycycline for Bacterial Vaginosis

It is said, “A Woman is a full circle; within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.” As much as this is truly a woman’s problems are also multitude, especially in matters of health. Menstruation begins at a tender age when a girl is not entirely aware of her world. Then pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, and so on.

It is possible that as a woman, especially during the reproduction period, you may suffer from vaginal irritability. The most common reason for this could be Bacterial Vaginosis. Bacterial Vaginosis is a condition where the bacteria in the vaginal area multiply more than required. This leads to inflammation and irritation in the vaginal area.

Bacterial Vaginosis can be treated by controlling the bacteria that grow in the vaginal area. Doxycycline is known as a Tetracycline antibiotic. It fights the unnecessary bacteria. Vibramycin, Acticlate, and Adoxa are some common brands of Doxycycline.

Doxycycline is a drug created and put into a trial process in the year 1957. It was first introduced in the United States of America, specifically in New York City. The innovation of Doxycycline improved the lives of several women. In fact, the World health organisation has tagged Doxycycline as an essential medicine.

Besides Bacterial Vaginosis, it helps fight off other bacterial infections caused in the intestines, the urinary tract, infections in the eye, respiratory infections, etc. It also helps fight infections caused by animal bites such as mice, lice, or ticks, including malaria.

How Does Doxycycline Work?

Bacteria can multiply only with the help of protein. What Doxycycline does is that it prevents the protein’s formation. In the absence of protein, bacteria cannot grow. This is how Doxycycline works. The point to note is while it does prevent further growth, it may not kill the existing bacteria. However, preventing further bacteria can provide relief if you suffer from Bacterial Vaginosis.

How Effective Is Doxycycline For Bacterial Vaginosis (BV)
